Intrepid locals gather on the steps of King Edwards Bay each morning around 7.45am for a swim. They are very friendly and from all ages. No one stays in for long when it’s cold but whatever the weather, you come out feeling so alive. I...More

This is a little more sheltered than tynemouth longsands. There are a series of benches set on one flight of steps down, which are not immediately apparent unless you peer over the rail on the pavement. Its rather nice to sit and take in the...More

Just love this place, especially in the Winter or at sunset. Very popular with locals and tourists from near and far. Steeped in history is Tynemouth - just keep walking around and reading the Blue Plaques!

Yes you can, although you'd need a sea fishing licence. A quick google can bring up many angling clubs who share advice on fishing in this area.
