This Bay has a lovely horseshoe beach situated at the foot of the cliffs with the imposing priory on top. It is a sheltered spot, ideal for sunbathing and swimming. Lots of pubs, cafes etc in the nearby town centre.

Not very accessible if you have mobility issues, steep steps or ramp. Beach is a gem though. Not particularly clean around Riley’s fish restaurant.

When the weather permits and the you have a bright sunny day this is a lovely place to relax and unwind. It offers some great viuws over the priory as well as some nice places to have a bite.

Beaches like this belie the bad press that The Northeast often gets. Great backdrop with castle ruins and quite nice terraced houses. Worth a visit at any time of year

I love this little beach. It's so picturesque, clean and almost always nearly deserted. Have a coffee or eats at Riley's Fish Shack and enjoy the view.

Yes you can, although you'd need a sea fishing licence. A quick google can bring up many angling clubs who share advice on fishing in this area.
