Best end to an opencast mine I've seen to date, it's completely free to visit and it's a nice little walk to explore her properly, I really enjoy the use of Pictish styles and spirals in her design, it's very apt for where she lies...More

Being local, I've been to this venue a number of times. It is okay but really better viewed from the air. Not easy unless you have your own air transport, (possibly a drone opportunity). Quiet spot, has free parking and a cafe on site. Great...More

Nice morning walk - great views of the opencasting and out to the coast too. Cafe could do with a little investment perhaps. Everyone is really friendly too. Don't be tempted to go to the snowy owl nearby after though which serves cold French fries.

Decided to break our journey here rather than stop at a service station and what a treat! Both our two dogs and ourselves had a toilet stop and a picnic on one of the four provided picnic tables set in the middle of this land...More

What a brilliant idea of reclaiming the landscape from mining. Added bonus of being able to see the open cast mine next to it (her?)! Luckily for us it was a sunny day when we visited so we took our time strolling around all the...More

This is a great place to visit. It's quite a unique experience and one that is well worth making. The woodland trail is excellent.

A very large sculpture moulded out of the waste material from a nearby opencast mine. Northumberlandia is laid out as a reclining lady which gives you plenty of tracks to wander around. You really need to climb to the highest point to get a decent...More
