Beautiful nature with a lot of garbage
Sep. 2020 • Friends
Would be a wonderful super easy hike to reach the waterfall if it weren’t for all the garbage, stray dogs and noisy people.
Busteni administration and mayor do nothing to clean or prevent all the garbage.
The car road up to the start of the trail is just horrilble with cars parked illegally all over.
Do not recommend during turist season. Maybe in spring or early summer and definitely not during the weekend.

For nature lovers
Sep. 2020 • Family
If you like hiking, walking through the woods and waterfalls, you should see this one too. If you are in good phisical shape you can choose the Bușteni (Telecabinei street) - Waterfall route, a longer, steeper trail. Otherwise it is much easier, less demanding, and recommended to reach the Howling Waterfall using the Poiana Țapului - Waterfall trail.

Easy hike
Aug. 2020 • Couples
Like a walk in the park, but harder, depends if you are willing to get some mud on your shoes. The waterfall is spectacular, there are some tables there, you can make a little picnic and on the way back is a lot more easier. Have fun!
You can get there and back in 2-3 hours

Picturesque waterfall in the forest
Jul. 2020
Don't expect to see Niagara; it's all about the entire hike, not just the waterfall.
Follow the red spot trail from the main cable way station and you'll reach the waterfall in about one hour. Its name sais it all - the Screaming Waterfall (translated from Romanian).
It's very refreshing to stand next to it and feel the droplets on the face in a sunny day.
Best to be visited after some rainy days, I guess.
All in all, Busteni is an ugly town with spectacular surroundings and Urlatoarea waterfall is definitely one of them.

Further than you might think.
Aug. 2019
After my wife and I finished with the cable car up the mountain, we decided to trek to the falls. My wife had been here before and told me it was just a little walk. It turned out to be further than a little walk but it was well worth the trip. We do mountain trekking with boots but this day I had my street shoes (which I don't recommend). Just before reaching the falls the air is very cold (from the falls). This was a pleasant feeling because it was very warm this day. I don't usually drink from untreated water but the falls was so beautiful we filled our bottles and drank the pure mountain water, which was delicious and didn't make us ill.

Easy escape into nature
Aug. 2019
If you want an easy and short escape into nature, you can start your trip from the Busteni railway station following the red dot path. The distance is around 3.59 kilometers and can be made easy by foot in one hour. the trip will take you through the wood and end to the bottom of Urlatoarea waterfall. it is qute relaxing and you will have part in the end of a wonderful scenery when you reach the waterfall. Because it is an easy trip, accessible to all the people, the forest road will be a little bit crowded with tourists, especially during the season. Therefore you will not enjoy the complete serenity of the nature, but it is an easy and very accessible touristic point after all. Therefore just go there and enjoy the scenery.

Short walk
Aug. 2019
Starting near the cable car short but not easy walk. The waterfall is not very impressive but enjoyed the path in the woods.

Loved the road

The cascade isn’t really that impressive, but the road there was a great workout. I would recommend choosing warmer clothes and packing some water for the road. The cascade looks better in reality than in pictures.

The waterfall is not far but the road is heavy, filthy with package by humans.
The view is not quite impressive, but it’s great as experience. Be aware of bears.

Nature walk
Oct. 2018 • Couples
We went on a walk path to see the waterfall. The waterfall is small but nice area to visit. The trail was really accessible and I wanted to rate it higher however more than half of it is with a lot of garbage thrown by the people who walked the area. It’s a shame and a disappointment to see the forest treated with such disrespect and no one around to stop it. We were really disappointed to see the garbage....
