Beautiful scenery, very relaxing and well maintained area - infrastructures in excellent condition. Would definitely recommend. Visitors should be warned that a portion of the stairs from the usual starting point (Areinho) is closed, due to the planned construction of the longest suspended bridge in...More

Lovely day spent doing this track. Landscape is amazing. We recommend doing the full track with a swim in the river beach half way.

Get there early in the morning, so you will have plenty of parking space, and avoid the midday weather, as it can be really hot and sun exposed during the warm season. Try to start from Espiunca, as it is the hardest bit and you...More

Surrounded by nature, above the Paiva River and its foaming rapids, with only the sounds of the river and singing birds. What a wonderful way to get away from the city for the day. The Paiva Walkways provide a trail of 8.7km of wooden footpaths...More

Until the 15th July, it is not open the full track - only 6.5 km, which means you have to come back the same way. Nice landscape and plenty of opportunities for a swim in the river. Make sure you take enough water, food and...More

This is a great place to be close to nature. Although the walk may be demanding it´s feasible if you take your time and make a few stops on the the way. Bring your own food since the number of coffee shops is very scarce....More

The walk is a nice, not too demanding (children can enjoy it too). The views are average views of a river in a gorge, there are dozen of nicer rivers in Europe. What is most frustrating is the drive to the place and back: it's...More

If you like hiking, then this is a must do! Amazing landscapes and the structure is very well made. Summer despite the heat, the river offers you the refresh you need :).

A wonderful place. Feel nature in the best way. Natural beauty to take a walk of at least 8km. Wear light clothing and sport shoes, and bring water. Enjoy and take photos. In Portugal, not to be missed. It costs only € 1!

Ola We had our own car with us, so really didn't look into trying to get there by public transport. We did see plenty of taxis ferrying walkers from one end to the other, but didn't notice any public transport.
