If you want to do the 4 hour hike to and from the crater, the microbus leaves right at 11am from the cerro verde area. We missed it so we took the 45 minute tour with one of the tour guides. It was really good!!...More

I loved hiking upwards the volcano!! the weather was great! rainy and foggy!! you get to take awesome pictures of the animals and the trees!! The guides are knowledgeable and gentle. And the food A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!

No words can describe the paradise. Let aside trash along the roads and poverty, El Salvador is a bag full of jewels and Cerro Verde is probably one of the biggest. Really worth spending the day walking up and down the volcanos.

There's a Tourism Police post at the entrance of the Campo Bello property. They do tours to the Izalco and Santa Ana volcanoes. Call the Campo Bello office at +503 2271-0853 they can give you more information. cheers.
