This was one of our favorite hikes at Mt Cook National Park. The trail was fairly level and gives you great views of the mountains (weather permitting!) We enjoyed not only the hike but being able to meet people from around the world.

As a fit person, one way from Mount Cook Village only took me 35 minutes including photo stops. I walked it in the early morning (departed around 7am) and as there were no other people yet it was a peaceful walk in beautiful nature. I sadly did not see Mount Cook as it was very cloudy, and also failed to... More

There is a small platform at the end of this walk. After doing the Hooker Valley track this is easier and shorter. On a clear day you can get a reflection of the top of Mount Cook in the small lake here. It is a nice little hike especially if you are looking for something that is not too long.

Did the walk in the evening when the day visitors had left. Met only a couple of people so able to enjoy Mount Cook and surrounding mountains in solitude. An easy fairly level path but rough underfoot at times. Saw some birds preparing to settle for the night in the long grass

Our first walk in the Mount Cook area. One hour and easy it is very worthwhile for the changing landscape and tundra and the fantastic views at Kea Point. Weather fair but could not see top of mountains it glaciers really interesting. We also Kea's which was a real bonus for us. Excellent.

The walk exceeded my expectations. The views of Mt Cook and mountain ranges were superb and everywhere we looked was like a picture postcard. The pathway was listed as able to push a pram, but I would not have liked to push a pram over the terrain. I guess an off road pram would cope ok. Would recommend this walk... More

It was a very windy, chilly hike, but absolutely delightful Highly recommend it. Saw a pair of wood ducks, but mostly enjoyed the walking and the scenery.

Just for a half hour walk you can get spectacular view! The path lead you through bush trees, wide view of the mountain, and amazing hidden lake at the top. It can be windy, but it's very worth to try.

A pair of glasses will help not only with sun glare but also the wind. A good rain jacket is a must (or keep in a backpack). The weather changes very quickly near the mountains so don't rely on weather forecasts. I was told it would be windy and rainy all week, I arrived and it was sunny.

Awesome little walk to a spectacular view point of the glacier, Mt Cook and surrounding ranges. Only a short 1 HR return trip from the campsite, well worth it and suitable for all ages. Just mind the wind as it howls down the valley! Must do!!
