A pleasant walk or bike ride, with other friendly residents. This is a shared bike and walking track, and every one seems to get on fine.

Don't expect excitement,or dramatic scenery. This is a nice quiet walk along the bank of the Whakatane river, but its peaceful, safe, and easy. On a fine day, it's a great place to clear your mind, and contemplate.....and kids will love running up and down...More

We had a very pleasant walk along the river on Monday morning. Took us about an hour return trip from town. Very little along the route but there are a couple of bars etc. close to town end of the walk.

A nice quite walkway that starts right at the whakatane bridge all the way to the end of whakatane near the heads. Well taken care of, beautiful scenery, it's a must do if your looking to do something relaxing.

The River Walk is quite beautiful, especially when the tide is high. Also suitable for cycling as long as cyclists take care to avoid walkers. Good for a couple in love to have a walk holding hands and a talk. Or not talk...
