Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nov 2019
End of November 2019, my friend and I had an excellent experience with Kumanday Adventures doing a 4-day trek to the summit of Nevado del Tolima. Our guide was Mancho, who, besides being a great person, is very experienced in high altitude in general and specifically in this area, well prepared, organized and super attentive at all times. Safety was put first and Mancho thoroughly checked our intentions in advance. Correspondence for arranging the tour went smoothly, both via him and also when I contacted the ladies in the office for booking details. Equipment (e.g. harness, crampons, rope, tents, sleeping bags) was of good Quality; transport, food/water and accommodation, everything was well organized. Many thanks to all who contributed.

We all had an incredible time on our Descent of Nevado del Ruiz! It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Colombia. The ride was average difficulty. I am a mostly unexperienced mountain biker, and I was able to handle the ride just fine. We stopped for a great breakfast on the way up to the volcano as well as a natural hot springs on the way down. Our guide was as friendly as could be. I'd recommend this to anybody going to Colombia.

This is well worth doing when in Manizales. It can be tough as there are some uphill cycling in the heat and altitude. However it offers the chance to see the surrounding small towns and countryside and through coffee plantations. Our guide Mauricio spoke excellent English.

First half of the day was fun and thz guide was nice. But the second part was not well organized as we had to cycle also in the suburbs. The traffic was busy and highly polluted. Despite we paid a huge amount for this activity, they were no snacks and no vehicule support contrary to what is written on the agency website. I will recommend to choose another company next time

If you are an active traveller, who also wants to do something on their trip and not just look at things. This is a thing to do in Manizales. It is worth your stop from Bogota to Medellin. Me and my wife took the downhill ride in June and it was just amazing. We started early in the morning on a sunny day and we first drove with a pick up van to 4138m and on the way the landscape changes completely. You are high up and you can see the Los Nevados volcano snow cover peak the air is sharp and the views are magnificent. They you start the downhill ride and is just super fun and the faster you go the more you will boost your adrenaline. We went through the rain forest and before the city we jumped to one of the thermal pools on the way and had a beer. It was just an epic day.

We joined the company for the Downhill Biking tour, which was great fun. Our guide and driver were a delight to spend the day with.
We stopped for a delicious breakfast and fresh fruit along the journey, had some really interesting features pointed out to us on the way, listened to Columbias interesting history (at our request and many questions).
We hit the national park on the volcano and started our decent. It wasn't too difficult but a bit bumpy at times due to the rubble on the ground. We went at whatever pace was comfortable with us, so no pressure to go faster.
The bikes were in great condition, the company had been really responsive to our emails and also gave us recommendations of things to do, see and where to eat in bogota. We had a fantastic day, even better than we had expected and these guys are definitely recommended!

The 3 days trekking in PNN Los Nevados with Kumanday was one of the best parts of our trip to Colombia (august 2019), if not the highlight. Olga arranged everything perfectly even when we had to make some changes from the original plan (due to altitude sickness). Mancho was not only an experienced guide but a true friend and a great help. Also Juan Diego that accompained us in the last day (and is a super safe driver through the monutain roads) was Amazing. even the food provided was very good. Highly reccomended

The best part of this 2-day trip was speaking with Juan, my guide. He is fluent in Spanish, knowledgeable on the outdoors, and also very clear and patient if you are trying to improve your own Spanish, as I was. We had many great chats over the 2 days.
Unfortunately the weather was very poor on day 2 so we could not summit the cumbre. It would have been ideal to get a weather forecast from the office the day before, so that expectations were set about our chances of success in advance of perhaps have the option of an alternative, such as mountain biking, if the weather is looking disastrous. but of course mountain weather is very changeable.
Equipment was in excellent condition (helmets, harnesses etc) and I was loaned a good sleepy bag and liner.
