Hove Lagoon is a real treasure and worth the trek to the western edge of the city. First class playgrounds, paddling pool and boating lagoon, fair rides, skate park, cafe and bar, tables, chairs, murals - literally all the ingredients for a whole day out!

Filthy changing rooms, no covid protections. Chavvy cafe with friend crap. What a shame. This could be like California. Hopefully a rich Londoner will buy this place and turn it around with appropriate pricing to keep the dirty people out.
Why do Brits have such low cleaning standards and accept this??

Although a bit tourist centralised in the cafe, the park and rides for the kids are good, if you can handle the brusque manner of the staff, and coffee, ices and chips as a staple.

The lagoon itself is ok, shame about the bike lobbed in there and not removed. Bit strange. Changing rooms are very tired and dirty. Not enough space or benches to change. Half the lockers are out of order.
Witnessed a class taking place where the instructor confessed to have never have taken the class before and was ‘filling in’. It was clear she had no idea what to do.
Kids play area is in desperate need of some investment. I can’t believe it is in Brighton & Hove! Looks so run down
It’s such a shame as the place used to be in a much better state

We had a great time visiting Hove Lagoon, Big Beach Cafe is amazing, fantastic breakfasts, very friendly staff. Dog friendly too - vegetarian breakfast was delicious. What more can we say, very tranquil, relaxing, great walks, great views. Lovely people, recommended if you are visiting the Brighton area and looking to escape the crowds.

This is a nice little spot on Hove seafront and you can walk from here into Brighton along the seafront. A rather nice walk.

I thought the staff were very good but let down by stupid people all standing around and far too near the service hatch not wearing masks.
If you are ordering coffee or food you should have the common sense to wear a mask and that should be enforced by the cafe owners. No mask or we wont serve.
Very busy yesterday with far too many families out with children. Felt unsafe

Located at the far end of Hove. Hove lagoon is popular with a lot of locals, very popular with families as there is the Big beach cafe and next to it a large children's park and skate park. The lagoon itself offers everything for the water sport enthusiast of all ages.

For water 'sports' fanatics this is a bit tame....but great for the beginner. There are sailing dinghies, paddle skies, granny paddle boats and a great zip line for board triers.
All equipment is provided (wetsuits etc) but it's not cheap but worth the try out. The lagoon is large and a good walk round next to the beach. Nearby, within 50m are jumping castles / slides and trampolines. Bit on the expensive side for 10 minutes but a magnet for the kids. There's even an outdoor gym for the physically sensitive??? Even better is the shallow paddle pool and play park for the toddlers! Hours of pleasure for the little guys and exhausting supervision for the grannies! A really good range cafe is immediately nearby for some calory relief (see review). A great venue on a sunny day for a full blast of energy depleting kids entertainment

We stopped here for burgers and wine one warm sunny evening. Ordering wine was interesting; At the bar area, the first staff member told us he wasn't serving, the next started to take our order but then told us they couldn't serve wine and the third, when asked for a Chardonnay (on the wine menu) asked if it was a wine, then was it a white wine, then told us they didn't serve it and only had one wine which they held up to us to see. We gave in and had whatever that was!
Outside is so run down, the tables were dirty and wobbly, the grass area is unloved and uncared for with tufts of grass amongst earth. Whoever owns this has no money or just doesn't care. Oh...I think they do have a bit of money to spend but choose not to!!

Hi Barbara, it may be possible but I don't know if you'd need to seek permission from the Hove Lagoon water sports place that appears to have the lagoon as their place of operation. This is their number 01273 424842.

hi parking in Brighton and Hove has become more expensive over time unfortunately however if your luck is in you can park beside the lagoon for a 2 hour period for nothing, subject to limited spaces. do not be put off by the costs as the fun will hopefully out do the parking charge.
