It will be a loss if someone visits Edirne and doesn't go to this health museum. For me it is mandatory and the only one in universe. The museum is amazing, it has many rooms exhibiting the medical practices in the Ottoman period. The medical students, the classroom, the library, "laboratory", kitchen, laundry room, and big room where people played relaxing theraupeutical music, similar like hospital plus mayo clinic. It is interesting because I found the snake as part of the story in this health museum. I wonder if there is somehow connection with Asclepion ancient healing center in Pergamon / Bergama, just 600 km away from Edirne 🤔.

A must visit in Turkey. One of many hospitals of Ottoman Empire from 15th century. It is all animated. You can see how life was in those days, how the patients were treated including psychiatry. This is the hospital. On one side you will find the medical university from the 15th century and on the other side you will find the almshouse. All with one ticket, all animated and all next to each other. Additionally, the mosque again from 15th century is also there. As long as you are dressed accordingly, everybody is accepted inside. If there is prayer, you can still go in. Just sit at the back and watch silently. If you want, you can copy them.
