Not that cheap but rewarding visit: great view, nice view of the control room and a silent witness of a WOII killing at the top floor. Go early (or late) and have the building for yourself.

No trip to Texel is complete without a visit to this beach. We visited on a beautiful sunny evening and seemed to have the place almost to ourselves. The lighthouse had closed at 5pm so we were unable to climb it on this occasion.

We walked along this beach whilst waiting for a tour to start. Its incredibly quiet, clean and beautiful. The different coloured cabins, and the lighthouse at the back compliment this gem beautifully. Enjoyed collecting seashells along the shore too.

Great view over the island and the sea. Sone interesting stories and facts on the way up - which has small and tight stairs but are easy to climb. Certainly worth a visit!

Well worth the drive to the far end of Texel island (first of the Waddenzee island chain). There is a vast beach which gradually gives way to the sea with further sandbanks just a little way out. The shifting sea currents are mesmerising. The tower...More

Also nice biking! From there you can reach de Kaap Nord Beach restaurant, the beach, the sailing club, the Noorman where you book and take the sealspotting trips and daytrips to Vlieland.

Desert-size beach with scenic lighthouse in the background - one of the biggest and most beautiful beaches we have ever come across. It's a bit windy and it involves both positives and negatives, obviously: sand gets everywhere but gentle breeze is refreshing. You can easily...More

This is an amazing place, a large island off the coast of the Netherlands, with wonderful beaches and lots of birds. You have to get a ferry across (interesting in itself). Once there, the walks are great and especially good for bird watchers and wildlife...More

No worries about no Dutch. Everyone speaks English in Holland. And for safety I would say it is perfectly safe. Just don´t rely on warm water in the sea... It is the North Sea after all. Staying the night is possible, there... More
