Very nice interesting tour about the coffee plantation on blue mountain coffee growing and production. Our guide Gerome was very knowledgeable and kind. We got a very good hike with amazing views and explanation about the coffee plants. Later we were taught on how to distinguish zBlue Mountain coffee from the others and the best way to drink it. The only difficulty was that the trail is steep and has some very rough spots. I would have like to know more about fair trade and labor treatment of this coffee

We hired a car and made our own way there. The road was somewhat scary as it winds up the mountain with numerous hairpin bends and some of the road subject to debris from land slips. The welcome was warm and we had just pitched up and were invited to a tour $20USD per person - well worth it. I learnt a lot about coffee and its history both globally and in Jamaica from our guide and enjoyed the walk up the hill. BE WARNED it is steep but you learn about the coffee plant and the Rainforest Alliance which was interesting. Overall a lovely visit and the staff were great with a tasting of the coffee itself and some rum cake and the opportunity to buy some e beans we had a great time

This was great - our tour guide was AMAZING. Very informative regarding coffee plantations and the whole manufacturing process. There was a short hike (perhaps 20-30 minutes uphill) to a lookout spot and then back down. If you are fit enough I would recommend visiting. However be warned; the road is EXTREMELY windy so only go with a proper big car if you are a comfortable driver (otherwise organise a tour guide to take you).

This was my final stop on my Kingston and Blue Mountain tour with Caribbean World that I booked with Althea at RIU Ocho Rios. You had to go up some steep steps to get to it. I’m out of shape so after the presentation I didn’t go up for the rest of the grounds. I stayed on the front lawn. The presentation on the history of coffee and what makes Jamaican blue mountain coffee unique was excellent. We sampled the coffee with small pieces of cake. Afterwards, we were able to go upstairs to purchase coffee. I paid in US dollars. I’m sure they took pounds as well because the majority of the group was from the UK. During the presentation, I did confirm with the presenter that Anthony Bourdain had filmed at this location for his episode in Jamaica. He also dined there and a part of that was in the footage. It’s sad that Bourdain is no longer with us, but I recognized the estate from that episode. The drive up is a little scary, but it was well worth it. The coffee prices they charge you are a discount compared to when you get back to the tourist areas. I ended up going to the General Foods Market in Ocho Rios to get more 100% Jamaican Blue coffee as gifts. I’m not a coffee drinker, but if you go to this estate, have your money ready. Bring a shopping bag that you can keep folded in your purse, you will want to buy what you can because their prices are very reasonable. 90% of their product goes back to Japan. I didn’t see their brand in the market.
