This castle offers amazing views of the surrounding countryside and is also makes for an interesting visit to learn about its pirate history. It's a bit of a steep drive up but nothing too scary. It's worth noting that you need to negotiate a set of stairs to get into the castle itself so not the place to visit if... More

Well worth a visit, there was a lot of info about the pirates who had "visited" the island. Definately not wheelchair friendly as you have to go up steps to get in. Friendly staff on door selling the tickets. You can go up on to the roof for amazing views. There were not many there so we were able to... More

Just outside the village of Teguise situated on a high hill this fort can be seen for miles and of course when you are there you can see for miles. Built to keep the Pirates at bay you have to admire its positioning. Only dissapointment was pictures of the weapons that might have been in use at the time, would imagine... More

We were very surprised by this museum in the castle up above Teguise town. For only 3 Euros there is a lot to see and every exhibit and piece of info is also in English. It's essentially a pirate museum, but there's lots of interesting snippets of info to read and plenty of displays and videos to look at if... More

Unlike Mirador del Rio this has real history and a story to tell and wonderful views thrown in as well. Very interesting history of the pirates.

Steep drive up. Not for those with vertigo but stunning views of Teguise and over to Fuerteventura and Isla graciosa. Museum only 3 euros. Informative and fun. Well worth a visit.

There is a lot of history in these islands but a lot of it is in form of stories. This little Ellis Island type museum is surely a treasure to the people personally connected to the immigration history of Lanzarote but otherwise it might be a bit boring. If you are a history buff, you will get a kick out... More

The castle is in a wonderful position and it is a nice building but the pirate museum inside is good only for children as there are not enough descriptions and mainly in Spanish. If you have time ( or if you have children) go there for a short walk otherwise go to other places.
