About
500 meters to the north is the most popular wave of the Reserve, on the beach that is considered the “visiting room” of Portuguese surf. Located in a valley where a stream flows, its geographical configuration is that of a natural amphitheater, ideal for holding events. It is not by chance that the first national and international championships held in Portugal took place here. Ribeira d'Ilhas is a long pointbreak right (the waves follow the shoreline) that receives all kinds of waves and works at all tides, being the most consistent wave in the region. With W / NO undulations Ribeira d'Ilhas can provide rights of up to 200 meters in length. It is a very valuable and competitive wave, as it allows the most different levels of approach by surfers.

Best surf post on the coast for reef break waves. Gets very crowded cause people come from all over the world to surf here. So quality of waves are great. No barrel waves though, you need to go to Peniche for that. It is not a beach to hang or prettiest one on the coast but for surfing, it is great!

The most beautiful beach: sand dunes, waves and wind. Good surfing, good facilities (toilets, shower, lifeguard, coffee shop etc). We stayed for hours.

Btw; parking is limited so you should go by Beach bus or bike.

This is a lovely beach with good facilities. just the place you want to be on a clear day when the sun is setting. Popular with all the surfers , great for all members of the family. Service at the bar/Restaurant can be a bit hit and miss but still a nice place to be.

Chill at the beach or on the viewing platforms and watch the surfers. Then go to the roof bar and have and drink. Then go surf yourself. (In this exact order!)

This beach is really beautiful, gold sand and dark turquoise blue sea. There are many ways to access this beach. There are a parking up a cliff then you need to walk down a long stairs , as well as reaching it from the other side by foot. There are a lot of family but not many that go in the water as it is very windy, quite cold and more for windsurfing and surfing. That's why the area is full of surfers and has a surfer camp. Waves aren't that big at that time but get bigger around October and November.

Even though the service seems varied - ranging from excellent to just O.k. you can't beat the location. I can spend hours here just people watching and looking out at the waves and surfers. Love it here!

This great beach is a short trip outside Ericeira. It is a surfers paradise with big waves every day we were there. Like most beaches along the surfing reserve, it's not suited for swimming. There is car parking and services nearby.

such a beautiful spot. Not only for surfing but also to sit down and have a look at the surfers. OR... the place where your boyfriend popped the question <3

All the beaches we found in Ericeira were fantastic and this was no exception. Beautiful. Great waves. Not crowded.
