We booked a nice wine tour with some appetiser afterwards. BUT please do not buy wines at the wine store. Most of them if not all are more expensive than buying in a wineshop. I bought some of the more “expensive” wine, so I was ready to pay more for them, until I went on the internet and saw that I paid up to 1OO% more at the wineshop. I contacted them for an explanation, unfortunately still waiting for an answer…..

The previous day we had been at the Planeta Sciaranuova winery on Mt Etna (see that review) for a tasting lunch. We were hard pressed to think Planeta Noto could be as good but it was. We had a tour of the property to start the experience which was lovely. We then sat down for a tasting with paired food. All the wines were very good and the snacks were paired perfectly! Side note: the spicy almonds were a hit. I forgot our hosts name but she had a passion and knowledge of the wines (and food) that was top notch.

A very nice winery.
The staff are friendly and speaks excellent English.
You don’t need to do a wine tasting if you don’t want to. The staff helps you and explain the difference and characteristics of each wine.
As good shop with wines s as no olive oils.

We enjoyed our visit to Planeta, the wine was tasty and our host was knowledgeable and kind. We tried 4 different wines from their different vineyards around the island and toured some of the vinification areas. We also stopped by a small house that you could rent for a relaxing week - it looked interesting, but we already had a place to stay.

I found Planeta Vineyards while still in the States. On the website (based on where you're staying) is a list of different tours/tastings that are featured at each of the five vineyards located around Sicily. We were staying closest to Noto so I requested the Grand Tour which included wine tasting, olive oil tasting, tour of the vineyards and lunch. Viviana was our hostess and provided us with a wonderful day. About 18-20 different people had reservations for this tour. It was a good mix of Italians, Americans and a lovely young couple from Belgium. By the time lunch arrived, it was as if we had known each other for years.
The wines were delicious. We tasted a different wine from each growing location: Menfi - Terebinto D.O.C. (100% Grillo); Vittoria - Cerasuolo Di Vittoria D.O.C.G.(60% Nero d'Avola/40% Frappato; Not - Santa Cecilia D.O.C.(100% Nero d'Avola); Etna - Etna Bianco D.O.C. (100% Carricante); and Capo Milazzo - Mamertino D.O.C.(60% Nero d'Avola/40% Nicer).
The wine tasting was first, then a visit of the vine-processing rooms, then olive oil tasting with antipasti outside under the Carob trees and then a long, leisurely lunch in the tasting room and then back outside for coffee, dessert and dessert wine. The cost was 55 euros per person and was well worth it. The perfect Sicilian weather added to the experience--breezy, warm with large shady trees, an abundance of flowers--good food, good wine, good companions--an outstanding experience

We had a delightful afternoon visit to the winery near our B and B. They have a small tasting area that can chandler a bus tour but even though we were just 4 travelers we were treated very well. Our initial tasting was followed by outdoor hor d’oeuvres and more wine.

This is a lovely winery to try the wines, we did 4 wines + 3 Olive Oils, accompied with some fantastic local tapa like dishes of Pesto + Almond on bread and small local pizza. The wines are some of the best in Sicily, and we had a good selection of white, red and Rose to choose from. Excellent 20 min tour of the wine making itself and excellent description of the history and process of Sicilian wines

The Planeta Winery is beautiful, in the sort of spartan way wineries often are. It was wonderful to be in the rolling countryside after so many days of city touring. We booked a tour through Viator and booked transportation from Noto through a separate company.
We were greeted by our guide Viviana, an expert on all things Planeta and wine. We were to wait for another couple who had also joined the tour and were given wine and freedom to roam the vineyard while we waited.
The tour itself is about 20 minutes, through the vineyard and to the storage facility, which they took great pains to integrate into the landscape. It was impressive, though I wish we could have spent more time in there discussing the wine process. However, Viviana was very kind in answering any questions we had.
After the tour, we tasted four delicious wines and learned about the origin and pairings. We also tasted their very fine olive oils. Excellent! This is all done in the lovely tasting room, which includes a large dining table upon which lunch was served. The lunch was very simple - a salad of local produce, delicious tomatoes btw, and then pasta, also tasty. It was good and served with ample amounts of wine.
The tour is roughly 3-4 hours of wine edification and tasting. The staff was friendly and hospitable and we would gladly do this again when next in Noto.

A really enjoyable afternoon tasting 5 wines from different regions of sicily, with an explanation of each one. Then followed by a tour of the winery and a filling lunch (vegetarians catered for) consisting of a mixed appertivo and tasty pasta and parmegiano, with more wine!!!. Wines tasted are also available for sale. I would highly recommend visiting Planeta.

We did the wine tour and tasting for 15 euros each - there is a short tour of the vineyard and processing rooms and then you taste a selection of 4 wines - 2 white and 2 red. They were extremely friendly and welcoming and there is no pressure to buy. If you ask for a taste of a wine that was not included in the tasting they are happy to oblige - as they were if you ask for another glass of your favourite to taste. We finished the tasting and the free wine and paid 3 euros for a glass and sat outside enjoying the view. Beautiful

If we would like to drive ourselves, how close to the day can we make a reservation? What is your cost per person?
Thank you.
