Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Whitewashed, old, historic, stunning, cosy and very charming port town. Mix of local/ tourist daily way of life here.
I found the locals very helpful and friendly as its a plesure to get lost in the winding back streets of the old town.
No big sights to see but this adds to the overall package of this somewhat "secret gem "of a place.
Train station is very close and user friendly for folk who do not want to drive but want to visit other local towns.
Ostuni is on a train route and is one of the nicest hill towns we have ever seen.
Magnificent and Magic Monopoli.

We spent 5 days in Puglia and took a trip into this picturesque town. We travelled by train from Bari, it’s short, 30-35 minutes, comfortable and cheap (3,60 EUR). I think Monopoli is one of the most beautiful places of Puglia. It presents the authentic Italian culture. The Old Town is a faboluos place with its narrrow streets and old historic buildings. We enjoyed walking there.

Monopoli is undoubtedly a city with a rich historical-artistic heritage worth visiting.
With my wife we crossed the historic metropolitan center... also discovering churches and historical monuments, symbols of art and culture.
However, having visited Mister Volare's city the day before...we find POLIGNANO more fascinating

Absolutely beautiful! Arrived by train from Ostuni (€6 each), ten minute walk from the station to our apartment, which was on the front overlooking the beach.
Stunning white washed buildings, beautiful little shops and lots of restaurants.
We walked around for a couple of hours and stopped at little bars in the town, then wandered down to the beach front, the water looks stunning! Too cold for a dip, but definitely worth a beach holiday here.

The historic center of Monopoli overlooks the port. In its architecture, the presence of different styles is evident, as many as there have been dominations over the centuries. do not miss the two rock churches, that of the Malfitana and that of the SS Maria del Socco

City in southern Italy that is worth a visit. Full of narrow streets where it seems that time has stopped. Going down from the train station to the sea is quite an experience in the labyrinth of streets that make it up.

We stayed in Monopoli for 4 weeks and used it as a base for exploring Puglia. We stayed in old the historic town and just loved it. Loads of lovely walks, restaurants and little beaches. The people are absolutely wonderful. Couldn’t recommend visiting Monopoli enough!!

Monopoly, beautiful at all hours. We were in the historic center 20 meters from the staircase that goes down to the sea.
Watch the sun rise almost every morning and get into the sea so calm and so pleasant.
Walk along the central streets and parallel to the coasts towards the port Spectacular!!!!
After my return I kept dreaming of those little beaches both in the center and the coves that are to the south.

Hi! Which bar / restaurants would you recommend? What are the prices like please?
We are going to Puglia 4-11th September 2019, and would be nice to get a feel for the place beforehand.
Any photos of restaurants menu would be helpful too!
Thanks in advance,
Kavita

Monopoli has a lot of restaurants in the old city. The prices are good and all of them look very nice. Te only thing is that everything is so croudy that is difficult some times to find a free spot :) But you just walk around and in the end you will make it. Monopoli in the evening is beautiful and you will have a lot of fun

Spiagge con poca sabbia. Rocciose e sporche. Ci sono spiagge sabbiose zona capitolo a circa 5km. Purtroppo molto care e gestite cosi.così. La.liguria e la.riviera romagnola hanno.tanto da.insegnare qui....

Best place to hire a car would be in Bari airport or in Brindisi airport.

Bonjour
Merci d'avance pour info je pars lundi soir direction Vieste;
