The botanical garden 'Lama degli Ulivi' rises in the lovely Apulia countryside surrounded by aged olives trees. Thanks to the original design of garden, visitors are attracted by the natural integration of plants coming from every part of world. A really enjoyable & memorable visit
Jun. 2016 • Family
We had such an enjoyable 2 hr guided tour. Francesco was brilliant…..he was so knowledgeable and you could clearly see his passion and love for the garden.

We had trouble logging onto the website so we didn’t realize that you need to book. This can be done over the phone and I am so glad we did this the next day and returned to this wonderful garden.

What's more they also had some animals.....goats, chickens, peacocks to name but a few and pigs! ....our family favourite.

Thank you so much ….. if we are in this region again a return visit will be top our list.

OK for a short visit
Jun. 2016 • Couples
The garden was open for a few days in early June so we popped in to see what it was all about.
By English or South African standards it is small and has a limited range of plants, but what they have is well labelled. An added bonus are the caves, but they don't compare with nearby Matera. The site is obviously old and would no doubt have an interesting history but we didn't use a guide so remain ignorant of it.
There is also a butterfly centre, but again is very limited in size and offering.
We like botanical gardens, but I'm afraid we found it too limited in size and range.

Amazing Botanic Garden
Mar. 2013 • Couples
Francesco, the guide, did an excellent job guiding us through this wonderful garden with 2000 species of palms, cactuses, fruit trees and the medieval caves with cave paintings dating back to the 12th century.

On a sunny morning late March we spend 2 extraordinary hours. Thank you for the amazing experience! And thank you for maintaining this unique garden!
