The Jasmund National Park is home to the magnificent chalk coast of the island of Rügen and the Jasmund peninsula with its hilly plateau. Beech forests, chalk cliffs and the sea form fascinating scenery, which cast its spell over the artists of the Romantic period and even today has lost nothing of its stunning attraction. Within the 3,102-hectare protected area, the largest contiguous beech forest on the Baltic coast covers 2,100 hectares of land.As a UNESCO World Heritage Area "Ancient Beech Forests of Germany", a representative section of landscape, partially unaffected by humans, in the east of the Jasmund National Park was identified, which extends from the drift line of the Baltic, up the steep coast to the plateau. The size of the area is 493 hectares.

So we went there for a group retreat and the hiking was quite nice. ViktoriaSicht is quite beautiful but there is no way to walk down to the beach (there was about five years ago I think). Heard the fuss about parking but lucky me I didn't have to worry about that. A bit expensive to be honest. The forest... More

We went to Jasmund National Park with our 5 year old son. We parked in Hagen and took the 3 km walk through the forest to the Viktoriasicht. The therapeutic walk through the forest takes you by a lake, and old Slavic fortress and much more. We counted many different types of mushrooms to see how could find the wildest... More

You start with the parking (1.5€/h), then the shuttle bus (1.65€/person/way) although the walk is a rather better option (actually the nicest part of our visit). Thenk you get to the famous Konigsstuhl and they ask you 8.50€ (really?) for looking down. Yes, the museum is included, but we did not care about it. We went to the Victoria view,... More

Keeping traffic away from the park centre complex is great but the entry fee seems excessive if all you want to do is see the cliffs. We walked in and went to Victoria Site where there was a super view of the cliffs. The nearer you got to the park centre the more trippery it became so we dived back... More

Lovely walk through the woods, but to see a tiny portion of the cliffs. Was 17 euro just for 2 adults. I got a refund. Not fun.

... for what you get! Parking, entrance fee and transfer for 4 people comes to over 50 €. Spare the money and make a boat ride from Sassnitz, which takes 1,5 hours and shows you the complete coast. This is probably less than 10 € more for 4 people, but you have the fun of the ride on top.

We did this park with our 3 year old son. We walked the 3 km walk from the parking lot to the cliffs through the woods. A very beautiful walk that gives you just a glimpse from the beauty of jasmund. On the top there is a playground and a nice restaurant. Vey handy when you travel with small children.... More

My imagination ran wild the deeper into the birch forest we walked. A place of fantasy and beauty! The pictures on line were nice but to see in person is quite a spectacle.

Taking walks in the forests and on the shore is a must if you're on Rügen. It's an absolutely beautiful scenery -even in winter. Wrap yourself up warmly, put on waterproof shoes and go hiking!

Probably is the last virgin forest in Europe! This is a richly structured, untouched slope forest. This UNESCO World Heritage site and National Park is a must! Not only beautifull, but also so diferent and amazing. It is possible to access to the Centre and World of Experience located also in the park, is very elucidative. Entrance in the Park... More
