Remind yourself how much English and French history has been intertwined by taking time to read the very informative interpretation panels at this marvel of mediaeval history. Best off all; it's free!

Domfront a medieval town now a lovely village with a few shops and a great place to visit the Chateau is in a great park and the building in this picture is the town hall

The Medieval old town in Domfront with its castle ruins dating back to the 11th century is worth a visit - free entry into the ruins and a great place for a picnic. Lovely sights from the high vantage points looking out over the countryside....More

Nice medieval old town. As Sam Johnson would say, worth seeing if you're in the area, but maybe not worth going to see if you're not. (Given that there are so many equivalents in Europe, but definitely worth an afternoon.)

This place should be called the castle's site, because there are remained ruins of the castle only. Despite that, this place is a popular place for town festivals.We haven't seen any picnic lovers because of the weather was not very good - it was cloudy...More

Went to see Domfront while on holiday, Lovely town very beautiful buildings and enjoyed look ing round ruins. Little play area for the grand children. Church has been restored so well. Lit a candle while in the church. Beautiful views. Only drawback French restaurants close...More
