About
This was an export port for quarry produced stone blocks for building famous Diocletian Palace in Split, listed by the UNESCO as the World Heritage. Stones for the palace were collected in quarries Plate, Rasohe and Strazisce. In Rasohe you can see the relief of Greek mythological hero Hercules. There is also a thematic path Hercules available in tourist offer which starts in Splitska.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great job slaves on the stone relief. I loved stone chisel marks and was really evocative with a little imagination. Finding it was half the fun - tip is to follow the hornets!

Either I was blind or the Relief of Hercules was hidden or very small but I could not see it there. The rather abandoned for long time path from Splitska centre clearly guided us to the place where we have seen some remaining stone walls, hips of stones. I have mixed feelings worthiness of walking 1.1 km up to the place from Splitska

A lovely morning visit is best as rather a steep path but worth while the plants give off a lovely aroma and we were the only ones there

A bit hidden in the woods is this ancient quarry. We loved it there. Imagine all those people havi g worked there so hard 2000 years ago! I was very excited about the scraping marks in the rock where they cut the stones.

A nice walk to find Hercules, after a long search finally found him! When arriving at the Hercules sign look on the rocks on your right.

I was so excited about seeing the Roman remains, but what a waste of time. Okay, it's quite a nice walk there, but when you arrive............what a let down. There isn't much at all. Shame.

Small quarry, poorly signed, little information. At least a 20 min walk. No parking. Poor uneven path not suitable for children or elderly.

Not a difficult walk for experienced walkers but not one to attempt in flip flops. Track is steep in places and rubbly. Not loads to see when you get there. The centre stones were overgrown with grass when we were there but it is interesting and impressive to think what the slaves achieved. Hercules is good.
