Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely beach, not too crowded on a weekday and the surf wasn’t too rough.
There was a lot of people in all modes of transportation travelling through and across the nude section of the beach. This included motor paragliders zooming low on the beach, people on bikes, people on horses, helicopters, planes and gliders, was more hilarious than uncomfortable.
The parking was a bit confusing, make sure you bring $8 in cash and a pen for the envelope you have to put into the box.
A few creepy people but overall was a great time!

Fantastic beach that goes on for miles- no problem finding a nice quiet spot to relax. Car parking costs $8 per day. Part of the beach is a designated clothing optional. Everyone keeps to themselves and with miles of beach to choose from - you can find your own quiet corner.
But if a freckle to get there down a dirt road which is full of some pretty big potholes-but worth it for the beach and ocean.

Great spot, the beach is beautiful and clean.
There is toilet facilities at the entrance avaliable which was unexpected.
There is a dedicated clothing optional area and everyone there was respectful! The locals are super friendly and down to have a chat.

First time visiting Tyagarah Beach which is on the edge of the Tyagarah Nature Reserve. You follow a fairly good dirt road from the highway for a few KM’s until you come to a carpark beside the beach. There is toilet block and information board with a honesty deposits box for parking.

You need to pay $8 a day to park or you can get a 12 month permit online for around $22 through NSW parks before you go.The beach access is directly off the carpark and you need to walk 200 metres south (towards the right) up the beach to where one of NSW legal nudist beaches are. The sand is soft and white and the water was clear and great to swim in although a bit rough on low tied.

The day we went, there were about 5 couples and a few singles enjoying the sun and surf in there birthday suites. A wonderful place to get back to Nature and legal to do so. It’s a shame QLD doesn’t pull them selves out of the dark ages and legalise cloth optional beaches. Tyagarah Beach is a nice 2 hours drive from Brisbane and about 20 minutes from Byron Bay.

We LOVE Tyagarah... love getting an all over tan, the beach is pristine (unless the wind has washed in some seaweed but that's not much or often). Since the new by-laws and specified area it's been so much better (google the changes if you don't know about them). Last time we went there were nude sunbakers littered right up the designated area, all enjoying the delightful day, no one harrassing anyone... just amazing! If you haven't been and want to try nude sunbaking, do it!

This beach compares well against the other clothing optional/nude beaches we've visited around Australia - quality sand and quite a wide flat beach, lovely blue water with smallish swell makes it a very enjoyable location. But there are a couple of things to think about:
- It can get very windy, so consider taking a shelter or wind barrier if planning to stay for a while
- Weekdays early are better if you want the beach to yourself, and not weekends or holidays in the warmer months
- Big improvements have been made in signage and police monitoring, but there can still be the creepy element occasionally. If approached by anyone behaving inappropriately, feel free to loudly say "I'll just get a photo of this for the police" and pull your phone out, usually enough to get them moving on. It's not a frequent occurrence, but you have a right to be there and not be bothered and their behaviour is illegal
- You can walk there from Elements resort but it's about 1.5kms. There's big signs there that show you where the beach is and the signs on the beach itself are easy to spot. Don't be nude outside the designated area!!

Tyagarh clothing optional beach is not a long beach, only 800m, but it is an excellent example of a quality Australian clothing optional beach that is well worth a visit.

Visits to this quiet stretch of beach north of Byron Bay offer a respectful and safe place to sunbathe with or without your swimsuit.

Used primarily by locals or ‘in the know’ visitors from nearby towns, this beach let’s you unwind in peace, watch dolphins swimming and the occasional parachute jumpers float by. Midweek it rarely has more than 20 visitors and you’re left alone to stroll, sunbathe or enjoy the sand and sea.

$8 daily fee for the car park on honour system deserves a better footpath down to the sand, but otherwise a reasonable cost for a place to get an all-over tan with views of Byron and the lighthouse.

I should get out more! This place was beautiful. There were a few other Nature Worshippers there, but nothing could disturb the peace.
I loved it!

My first time as a nudist was at this beautiful beach. The feeling I got was one of freedom, all my inhibitions were suddenly gone. The people I met that day were wonderful. The thing I like best about being with other nudists, is that we were all equal, and no one was judgemental.
