This mercado is typical of the other central mercado I have experienced in Quito and Cuenca. This is a one stop shop, with everything you could imagine.
I ate breakfast twice and both times was very satisfied.
I had heard great things about this mercado. Maybe I was anticipating too much but I was a bit disappointed. Typical fruits/veggies/eating places. Spread out over two floors. There were not as many people wandering through the mercado as I would anticipate.
