About
Playa La Posita is probably one of the better-known beaches in Pinones because of its accessibility. It's right on PR-187, and one of its distinctive attributes is that a long breakwater hinders the intense Atlantic waves from crashing into "La Posita", which translates as the pool, or the puddle. Its waters are similar to those of a pool: calm and cool, perfect for bathing without having to struggle with the waves' intensity. Moreover, you can park in front of the beach, and, across the PR-187, you can grab a bite in some of Pinones' best beach shack, like El Guariquiten.

Great for kids but be aware that it gets pretty crowded on weekend and there is hardly no shade. Gladly there is some people renting umbrellas and chair and there are plenty of places to grab a bite if you get hungry. Parking is in the street and it can be very windy sometimes. Remember to wear sunblock and don't leave your trash behind.

Las Pocitas de Piñones is very close to San Juan , about 15 minutes, passing Carolina.
This place is ideal to come and relax in the water because is like kids’ Pool! Warm and calm, so you sit and don’t want to leave.
It has plenty of parking space across the street. I really suggest you to go.

We heard about the Pinones area from our Uber driver who said the tourists don't really know about it or go that way. When we rented our car we drove the coastal route from Carolina to El Junque. It seemed like we were there in just a few mins after leaving water beach club. There are tons of beach areas off the road, trails going through the jungle looking areas on each side of the road that lead to beach entrances, places to pull your car right up to a secluded beach area, lots of local hut type shops, bars and little food vendors. On our way back from El Junque we stopped at a roadside stand and asked the locals that were BBQing what all they had! They had tons of fried food and we wanted to try an empanada. They had about 7 different kinds of empanadas and fried fish, pork skewers etc. So we got a beef empanada because we are from Oklahoma haha and chatted it up with the woman that made it while we devoured it. Then we drove up a little more and pulled off to the beach. Parked 20 feet from the water and got out. It was private, the area we were at had more waves and had all sorts of shells on the beach. We grabbed a few souvenir sea urchin shells. They are everywhere on the beach where we were. Cool area. Going back again

Perfect beach for families. A large portion of the beach is only a couple feet of water. Great for a toddler to explore. Will back for sure.

This was our favorite beach near San Juan. Very calm, clear waters -
was perfect for our young daughter to play in, as well as to practice snorkeling. Plus! Free street parking and it’s close to all the famous Piñones food kiosks

I’ll start by saying that this is an awesome spot to enjoy the beach without fears of rip currents since there’s some natural protection. It’s like having a pool at the beach….. Bring your beach chairs & if you forget them there’s some folks that bring some then rent them. This spot is very popular but WARNING BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU PARK. Park as far away from the road as possible don’t matter how many cars you see parked on the side of the road, got a $200 txt myself. There’s no signs saying you can’t park there & the parking tkt has payment instructions but not how to appeal it. As a former resident it’s sad that they take advantage of visitors this way, the least they could do is put some NO PARKING signs. But I guess that will kill their Golden Goose ($$$$$$$)

I love la pocita. You can either bring your own food or cross the street over. You can bring your own beach chairs or rent them as well as the umbrella.

Water is clear, not as touristy & probably our favorite beach. Food nearby, you can rent chairs/umbrella. I was able to stand in the water 5 ft 2 in for reference.

Lovely beach. Swimming could be dangerous if you go out too far. Lots of rocks and undercurrents. Loads of places to eat.
