A stunning hourish walk up. Peaceful with lovely views of Cromarty Firth and out to the Black Isle. Interesting historical monument at the top based on gate of Indian city.

Fyrish Monument is a nice walk through a wooded area along a reasonable path. The Monument also known as Gate of Negapatam was built by Sir Hector Munro to provide work for locals. The route does get steep in places but anyone with reasonable level...More

Not for those with knee issues, otherwise quite manageable. The prize is at the top: beautiful bit of architecture of minor historical importance. Lovely views.

I have wanted to walk up here for years. Took me an hour, very steep but so beautiful at the top. Be careful coming down loose stones on path. Maybe better signs as plenty track and more information about monument story/history .

Managed to visit the monument during a hectic weekend - even though there was wind and frequent showers the views were breathtaking. If you are in the area this is a must to visit.

Hi James S, You would probably be fine but there are some steeper sections. It's a lovely walk in itself so you could always turn back. Instead there are lots of other beautiful walks around such as the 'Monadh Mor' on the... More

Hi, Once you take the boath turn off keep going for about a mile when you come to the trees on your left thats where you will find the car park. The car park area is in the corner of the woods and there is a small sign.
