We walked around here slowly, plenty of time to digest everything. There was lots of clothes and hats to try on for the children. If they are old enough to read though, take care as some of the stories are quite sad from the wars.

,earn about the important part Manchester and Ashton-under-Lyne played in various wars around the British Empire and in the world wars. Lovely displays of uniforms with lots of relative information.

Its in Ashton-under-Lyne town hall it all about the lads from the two wars and history of the wars, it excellent museum and I found out about my grand uncle George and his V.C

The Medal Room came alive when "Tommy Atkins" was in residence telling you how it was during the Great War. You were also able to look at the equipment that he had to carry when he was in the trenches.

Excellent museum, dedicated to the Manchester's, who came into existence from 1881 until 1958 when they amalgamated with the Kings Regiment. It takes you through the years showing different uniforms, weapons and conflicts the regiment have been in etc, they also have a special section...More

Situated in Ashton-under-Lyne Town Hall off the market square this is a very interesting little museum. Combine a visit with some shopping in the historic market hall
