Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The monument of the patron Saint of Praia da Victoria (Imaculado Coracao de Maria)
is perched high on the hill, overlooking Praia da Victoria which was founded 1456. The monument serves as a reminder of a significant battle that took place here in 1829. It is a gathering place for those who wish to enjoy an outstanding view of the grand harbour. See the entire town. Praia was the former capital of the Azores and remains one of its most modern cities. From the lookout you will see multiple beaches, shopping areas and an upscale marina with many yachts and other vessels. Access to this fabulous ‘miradouro’ is available by car or stairway. The stairway can be a strenuous climb to the top. In itself, the stairway, viewed from the bay, is quite the sight. The road to the top is easy to access as you drive through the north end of Praia.

There is a small parking lot on the left - as long as you are able, I highly recommend taking the trail of stairs. The views from the walk up are as good as at the top. I think if we had driven - I would have not been as impressed. Like most adventures in Terceira - the trip to your destination is equally as amazing as the final stop.

It is a very easy track up the hill by road. There are steps that take you to the top and is also a shorter route, however it is more difficult, as the steps have moss and are slightly slippery. There are gusts of wind so have to be very careful specially on top and not sit on the outer wall. The views from the top are spectacular as you can see the whole of Pria de Vitoria below. It rains frequently so it is advisable to carry a water proof jacket. There is a statue of Mother Mary on top and is open for visitors from 19:00 to 21:00

the top was very windy but majestic view of Mary overlookin the island and ocean, there is an amateur radio station on top, and luckily we had one of the guys show us around inside- very interesting. the climb was just about 300 steps, curving and winding up the slope.

I've been up here many times on my visits to the Azores - in August, October, February and April. It's a great view of the town and its harbour - but if it's windy, you'll probably only want to stay for a few minutes!
The monument is lit up every evening, and is pretty iconic locally. You can either drive or hike up, depending on how energetic you feel. One things for sure though, so long as it's not foggy, it's a decent view...

Very nice view of the 2nd biggest city in Terceira, avoid this place with bad weather (fog and/or rain).

It's not bad but I didn't find it very special either. There are better viewpoints in Terceira. If yopu don't have mucch time, you could skip this place.

A very nice view of Praia de Vitoria. There was nobody here at sunset as it was extremely windy, but the view remained excellent with the clouds in the back.

Lovely views of the town and out to sea after a bit of a steep climb, easy walk back down to town via the road way.

Either walk the stairs or drive up to the point. What a view of the ocean, Praia da Vitoria, and the Island! Beautifully stunning! Too bad we can't build a house on this point.
