The old town of Praia da Vitoria doesn't look like it. Probably, the reason for the earthquake that destroyed it and restored the houses as new. Attractions are few: the Church of Mercy (Igreja do Misericórdia), the Church of the Mother (Igreja de Santa Cruz), the town hall. It’s not Angra but it is a nice small town with picturesque houses and many steep streets (just keep that in mind)

Loved walking the cobbled streets through old town. Lots of little shops and good food all within walking distance.

Vitoria Old Town has patterned cobbled streets, a good selection of churches and historical buildings, stores, restaurants and a beautiful harbor. If we weren't in love with Portugal before we certainly were now.
