I am a professional goldsmith and completed my goldsmith diploma after 3 years of training in Florence.
I love the beauty of shapes and the many ways you can create an object with your hands from start to finish.
With me you can create your own piece of jewellery, just like the master goldsmiths did many years ago, by first melting the material and drawing wires and rolling plates. Then it is sawn, hammered and polished.

It was only by chance that I discovered Dorthe's silver class after booking a visit to her AirBnb.
I enjoyed learning the process, from smelting the piece of silver, to quenching, to rolling and hammering. Measuring and cutting to size, stippleing, shaping and finally polishing.
My master-crafts woman and teacher was informative and praised me for thus far being the first person to complete 3 pieces of jewelry in 4 hours!
A great class. Well worth the time!

Just wrapped up an inspiring workshop designing my very own silver ring in Firenze with the talented Dörthe!
Starting from scratch and learning each step of the process was pure magic. From shaping the metal to using centuries-old Florentine craftsmanship techniques, every detail added so much character to our pieces.
Dörthe’s warm welcome and bright smile instantly made me feel at home. I loved every moment of chatting with her and learning from her expertise. It’s a memory I’ll cherish…

Making our own jewelry with Dörthe was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany! She walked us through the whole process from melting silver, working the metal using rollers and hammers and the creation of our final pieces. She was very patient and worked with each of our party of 4 to personalize our creations. The beautiful site and wonderful bread and snacks was the icing on the cake! I would recommend this to anyone that wants to try something new.

We had a fantastic time with this experience. Dörthe was a very patient teacher and we learned about goldsmithing from melting the silver to our final product. Each of us made something different: a ring, a bracelet charm and a pendant. It was also interesting to be inside her workshop and see how she creates her pieces. It's so much fun to leave with a finished piece of jewelry. The snacks were excellent too!

Myself and my friend loved Dörthe’s silver making course!
Dörthe is wonderfully hospitable; not only did she drive to pick myself and my friend up from a local bus stop, she also provided us with a wonderful fresh array of snacks (including her very own homemade olive oil!).
The class itself is very informative (and the studio is beautifully rustic with stunning views of Tuscany). Dörthe is a patient and extremely knowledgeable teacher. We now understand the entire process of ring making using classic techniques and equipment.
Myself and my friend each left with a wonderful memory and a beautiful silver ring - we couldn’t recommend this experience enough!

Where do I even start? My sisters and I decided to book this excursion instead of a cooking class, as my twin sister and I were celebrating our 60th birthday. We thought it would be a wonderful idea to create matching rings. From the moment we traveled through the rolling hills until we arrived, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. The Tuscany villa was breathtaking, and we felt instantly at home. The views from the windows were beyond imagination, and Dòrthe was so knowledgeable and patient with us throughout the process. We ended up crafting three beautiful rings that we will cherish forever. Dòrthe was incredibly sweet, even surprising my sister and me with birthday pastries—-candles and all!! I also purchased a stunning, one-of-a-kind rose ring. This unforgettable experience will always hold a special place in our hearts – a must-do excursion!

We had the best time making jewelry with Dorthe! Her studio in Tuscany is gorgeous. Once we arrived, she gave us the option to make any jewelry that interested each of us, which I appreciated because most classes require everyone to make the same pieces. In our case, one of us made a stylish bracelet and another made a cute cat pendant. Throughout the process, we learned many different techniques. It was amazing to create entirely from scratch. Dorthe also prepared delicious lunch for us and gave us a ride to and from Florence!
This is a memorable experience to have in Italy. It’s definitely unique and the souvenir will last forever. 🤎

The class was absolutely fantastic. Dörthe was a wonderful and patient teacher. My fiancee and I booked the course so we could make our wedding rings together, and we are so happy with the results!
Dörthe led us through the entire progress, from the preparation of the silver all the way to cutting, hammering, and shaping our rings. She made the process easy to follow, and gently guided us whenever we had any troubles.
We would not hesitate to recommend this class to anyone who is looking for a unique experience, and are sure to cherish the memories, skills, and rings we made during the class.
