The history of the Mas de Cadenet starts in 1813 when the Negrel Family acquires the Estate. The Mas de Cadenet is emblematic winery of Provence. It is a longstanding “Love Story” between a family and its land. Today Guy Negrel runs the Estate with the help of his children Maud and Matthieu Negrel. Viticulture and winemaking are here certified organic by the “Bureau Veritas”. A great morning there. We were a small group of 7 from Aix en Provence. The staff gave us a great tour of the casks and wine cave. The tasting session was excellent with lots of information, insights and anecdotes.

We took a wine tour while we were in Provence and Mas de Cadenet was the nicest winery we visited. Someone was there to explain to us the history and the processes of the domain and she was really friendly (I think her name was Marion). It was the only domain of 3 where we could sit down and really enjoy the wine tasting. And, of course, the wine is delicious! I highly recommend this domain!

We had the opportunity to do a quick wine tasting stop our last day in Trets. You have to love when the current owner's son considers your visit important enough to come out and offer to lead the wine tasting himself. Multilingual, gave us our taste session in English, French and Spanish.

We enjoyed a wonderfully educational wine tour given by the owner. It was fascinating to hear how he goes about making the decisions that he makes. It was also interesting to hear about how they change out the vines and how they protect the ground (vines) from cold weather.
It was also educational doing a tasting with him and hearing how he described te wines and flavors in the wine.

Picturesque visit to a small boutique family winery. 7 generations of wine makers tradition and good taste.
