Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Here you have to imagine everything, the moments of landing on such large beaches were a heroic feat but teenagers struggle to perceive it and even we adults have to work a lot of imagination.
Unfortunately it is a beach and there is nothing but a small museum with a couple of military vehicles outside.
I'm sorry to be a bit against the current but this was my experience, I would rather see something more in one place than scattered in a thousand other small museums.

Make sure you drive further down the road past the main part of Utah Beach where the museum is. It's all beautiful. We camped out the night before D-Day in our car and everyone did to watch the reenactment. They've done a beautiful job on History that we don't want to forget.

There is a museum and some monuments on the beach at La Madelaine. The museum is not necessary if you have visited the Airborne Museum. The most interesting thing was the monument with the landing craft.
So when you're here, you should plan a day at the beach. Also interesting are the oyster beds a little north, which you can easily walk to at low tide.

Utah Beach has easy access to the actual beach. When the tide is out, the beach is expansive. There are memorials and a museum and a few less visitors. It's about an hour from Omaha Beach, but worth going to help understand what occurred here in 1944. Do visit the museum if you have time. Lots of good information and short films.

Utah Beach is such a great site. It’s a memorial site but also has a museum, restaurant that once housed Germans during WWII but also the allies after. You can reflect, learn, and honour allied forces but also picnic and swim. You could really spend the whole day here! Parking and access to the beach is free.

Being at Utah beach is like reliving the landing of the Allied troops in Normandy. Amazing how this place was so important to thousands of lives during the Second World War. It's worth going there and reflecting on everything that happened there.

Once again, just like Omaha Beach, this is something everyone should see. Buy your sand bottle before going to the beach. Great gift shop. The monuments are not on the beach. Be sure to look around. It does not take as much time as Omaha. Humbling experience.

To finally get to see Utah Beach was amazing. To know what happened here 76 years ago and the price that was paid on this spot to secure Europe from the Axis powers is hard to put into words.

It is hard to believe all the planning that went into the D-Day landings but visiting the sites helps paint the picture of what it must have been like. The grounds have been well maintained and Utah Beach is one of the many stops in Normandy worth visiting.

Utah beach is the furthest West of the five allied landing beaches. Also, it is the least commercial and encroached (yet) by urban sprawl. It is also the most interesting (Together with Gold beach).
The beach is easier to access and has compacted sand so very easy to walk on and get a perspective of where the troops landed. There is an excellent museum which is not to busy and well worth spending some time there.
There is one excellent restaurant close to the museum, if you are there on a not busy day it easy to get a seat, if there are tour buses there then it can fill quite quickly.

My father landed on August 13th. I have done much research without finding where Transit Area B ((preferably B-25 and B26) are located. Somewhere 8 miles inland near Sainte Marie Eglise). Also did most landings that later after D-Day land at one particular Exit Row to get off the beach.
Thank you
Guy Pizzoferrato
ps-I will be on Utah Beach August 13th, 75 years ago to the day my father landed and would like to be as close as possible to where he was.
