You can only go so far up this until the 1st July when it all opens. It's still impressive and gave great views. Not our best cable car experience in the Tirol.

Been there several times in summer...and going back. Fantastic place to spend a midsummers eve. Go tobogganing in summer is a hoot. Fine wiews and wonderfull hikes.

No regrets... Stubaier Gletscher is a great place for skiing and boarding, even in April & May. This year we got a lot of fresh snow. I will never go during christmas anymore. April / May is a better time of the year!

Hi, we will be visiting about the 19th September, 2016. Will we still be able tour the Stubai Glacier Ice Caves? I have not been able to find any info after 4 September.

I think you should be able, but we found that sometimes the cave is closed and we didn't found out why. I think they close on weather conditions but I'm not sure. The weather should be fine in September anyway.

1700 metres. It is the access point for the Stubai Glacier area. There are some hotels and bars and the lifts. Large car parking areas and bus stops for the service busses from the vslley townd. The glaciers are well worth... More
Hi, is it possible to do a day trip from to innsbruck to go to Stubaier, just to experience the snow ( not skiing) around 4th of May, 2016. There is a train at 5:30 am from Vienna which reaches Innsbruck at 9:38am and same evening return train at 20.20 . we are 4 travellers .. If possible, how do we go about booking bus/taxi/any other mode of transfer from the station and return to the station.. please suggest. t=Thanks

It is certainly possible to do this from the Railway Station. On arrival you can either catch a bus - the bus station being just outside the railway station (same complex). The bus goes regularly the cost is very reasonable... More
