Half way between the town of Santa Elena and the Santa Elena Preserve the Sky Walk is located: This complex use trails, suspension bridges for a more tranquil introduction to the ecology and natives of the forest canopy, constructed within the cloud forest. It allows a vision of the forest from a different perspective which starts with a walk on the ground taking you up to explore the treetops, a hardly discovered habitat, called the “canopy” with a naturalist guide. Also discover the night wildlife at our Sky Walk Night Tour.

Is you're going to do a zipline, definitely chose the one in Monteverde. It has incredible views, and its SOO HIGH UP! You don't get this experience in the La Fortuna or costal ziplines. Top tip: Go early in the morning and if you decided to do the bridge walk too, opt to do the zipline first and then go... More

We found it a joy to walk at the top of the forest canopy. The walkways appear to be well constructed and. inevitably as some are quite long there is some wobble but there are are rails to hold and sided between the rails and floor.

An optional extra offered on a guided holiday. Quite expensive and generally disappointing in terms of spotting wildlife. We saw a group of Howler monkeys in a tree but they were quite difficult to make out, Howler monkey poo on the bridge and some beetles. After being in Tortuguero and Monteverdi it was rather a let down.

As you begin to walk on the bridge, it begins to sway back and forth sometimes violently. If you are at all prone to dizziness, the skywalk is not for you.

For $30 US you get picked up and taken to the cloud forest. It has spectacular scenery. You wander along a set trail for 1-2 hours or as long as you want. Then get taken back. I heard lots of birds, but didn't see many. The humming bird part of the walk is good and saw some there. Heard howler... More

Good place to pass half a day. You have to hike up and down hills, but the trail over concrete and well marked. Get ready to get wet! Do it on your own, that is don't pay for a guided tour. You do need someone to take you there, it is deep in the mountains.

This quite walk through the cloud forest is enjoyable. You have to really pay attention to see the animals and insects. Bring binoculars.

I was with a travel group and took a guided tour through the forest and walked on 3 of the suspension bridges. The hike was serene and the vantage points from the bridges were extraordinary! The Skywalk tour was one of my favorite activities while in Costa Rica.

I thoroughly enjoyed by adventure on the Skywalk Hanging bridges. I had been on the ones in the Arenal area before, but these were longer and higher and the canopy was breathtaking. Loved it!

Except of screaming tourists you hear from the Sky train above, the road passing nearby and some threes you can find anywhere in the area, there was not much else to see. We didn't see any animals, except some bugs, although we were almost alone on the trails, that were very short (about 1.5h). In Curicancha, or Monteverde Cloud Forest... More
