I absolutely loved the cooking class with Karuna! She is a warm and welcoming lady with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh! We met her in Galle where she took me by the hand and lead us to her tuk tuk to meet the rest of the group and take us to the markets to buy food for the class.... More

Karuna makes this whole experience feel like a home away from home. Made sooo much food and learnt a lot about Sri Lankan cuisine. Trip to the market was excellent and the lesson itself was personal, educational and the teacher made us feel really involved. Devilled potatoes, coconut sambal and the beetroot, pumpkin and aubergine curries were amongst the most... More

At $30 per head and an average of 10+ people, two cooking classes per day - its way overpriced. Only one stove for all the people, its not very personalized. Karuna is a lovely, friendly lady. There is a cooking class in Ella that was good reviews, and cheaper. Id go there.

I attended a cooking class for about 2.5 hours with my daughter. Started off with a visit to the market and then back where we cooked 5 different curries. Karuna has a good sense of humor and we enjoyed her cooking class. Enough to feed an army but we thoroughly enjoyed eating our own creations and for the same price... More

We had the absolute pleasure of attending Karuna's cookery course today. It was super-fun, really accessible, interesting and engaging - we all just loved it. Karuna is really warm and friendly; extremely knowledgeable and excellent at explaining. Highly, highly recommended - two massive thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼

I went to Karuna's class this morning, having booked three days in advance as agreed on 19th July at 1100. However, having arrived at her restaurant, I was greeted with "cooking class cancelled". Thankfully someone called Karuna who explained that it was a full moon, the markets would be closed. I was very disappointed and asked her why she hadn't... More

Loved this; we spent time buying food and spices as a market and cooking food the traditional way. From opening coconuts with a machete to eating the curry's we'd made. It was a lovely experience. Enjoyed every moment. Thankyou!

My husband and I did this class with 2 German tourists and had the best time! Karuna was lovely with a great laugh and sense of humour. We all helped prepare the food and were very involved in the whole process. We were a bit concerned the food would be too spicy for us but it was beautiful- best food... More

This was more of a demonstration than a class. Karuna went to very little effort to involve the class in cooking or at the market... Or in the spice store she dumped us in for the hard sell. The lack of involvement wasn't assisted by the fact she disappeared for a full 50 minutes before she came back and rushed... More
