Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

But don't go in the summer and make sure you know where you're being dropped off. Friends took the cable car, no air in Summer's awful heat. The walk was nice and there are people selling water along the climb.

The best way to see Yushan is by bicycle. You can rent these all over the place in town, and the ride up is strenuous, but technically easy. The way down is mostly just coasting, and the views up the top are pretty good.
Allow yourself about 2-3 hours for the round trip. If visiting in winter like we did, be sure to bring some drinking water and snacks, as there aren't many options for purchasing either up on the mountain.

My first experience was in 2013 when an Engineer wanted to go explore during the 100+ temperatures. We walked to the park from the hotel (Crown Plaza) then all the way to the top and back down again. Despite being uncomfortably hot and humid, we were energized by the thought of those efforts taken to build and later re-build the city wall. There are several historical sites along the way and thankfully, there were refreshment vendors along the route which allowed us to keep hydrated.
In 2014 I repeated the route when I had other Engineers come to support our project. It was a shame that some wanted to hide in the hotel instead. Oh well, it was and is their loss.
In 2015 I took my wife with me and after reaching the top of the wall we descended and ventured through the lower park where we found several tasty street foods

Only 1 public bus going up to the mountain. The frequency of the public bus is terrible. Going up is okay but going down is nightmare. Imagine 30 people rushing to get on to a ~20 seaters bus. The no is not too though BUT they don't queue. They dont even let the people to alight first.

The staff at the top of the hill although asked, did not let us know the cable car was closed, and watched without saying anything as I sent our driver down he hill to meet us, knowing full well the cable cage was not operating. The park itself is forgettable and nothing special, and the problem reaching my driver was a nightmare. Overall a huge waste of time. Don't bother.

- Do not get into the free entrance park and expect yourself to walk up to the top hill. My friend and I walked 45min and still haven't reach half of it. There is a bus that will take you up there for 2 yuan/ person and the service is off after 5pm.
I was disappointed, there was nothing there to see. Wasn't as beautiful as the picture at all. Just a walk in nature

It's a good hike to the top. Not too hard or tool long. The view at the top is worth the trip. Nice small local resturants with good food near the top. the temple is beautiful. Stop along the way for tea nd conversation!

if the smog clears you cannot miss it, as it rises out of the flat yangsee river delta.
There is a cable car on the north side and a 3 headed monument at the north west end.
We walked the length of it on a hot summer day and I would not recommend this. The mountain bike routes are ok

Lots of people walking around, fairly peaceful. free to sit have lunch, coffee and enjoy the day. People were doing activities.. fly kites etc.
There isn't any page for the zoo.. so 'll leave a review. 0 stars. Do not go, do not support that animal cruelty. its the most inhumane thing I've ever seen. The Lion cage is the size of a king size bed.

There are many different paths to explore, some very nice tea houses next to pretty ponds and the walk along the wall was fun.
