A great walk which the children could enjoy... Caves and interesting rocks to adventure around. Absolutely stunning views. Some signage could be improved upon. Best to do in fine weather with a bit of cloud cover as quite exposed so can get very hot!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the sluicing walk in Bannockburn. It's a loop track, so you can go in either direction and come back to where you started (carpark). Recommended time was 1.5 hours for the 3.5kg track, which seems like a long time...More

We always enjoy this walk at Bannockburn. Gradually improving interpretation. It can be hot so take a hat and enjoy. Lots to see about goldmining and historical life style.

Enjoy a fast paced walk or amble through the gold mining sluicings and learn the history of the area on this popular walk. Be careful if there’s been recent rain, it can be slippery due to the areas clay base.

A very good walk along a trail with interpretive boards in the old gold mining area. A fascinating, disturbed, landscape, even more surreal as it is now amidst wineries. Path easy and well marked, steep in places.

Instead of the usual greenery, you get to walk on the place where people used to goldmine. Amazing walk and you get to smell thyme along the way. Super sunny as there’s no shades along the way. I had just arrived alone and a polish...More

Interesting walk. We went during the middle of rabbit culling (by vineyard owners?) so the area did stink. Interesting caves. Interesting walking tracks and interesting history.

A really wonderful, but not too difficult walk. To think this was once a thriving and busy gold mining area is amazing!

This was a typical gold mining area where the "rocks" are so soft that miners pumped high pressure water to form the "sluicings" in order to find gold faster. These formations look like crazy cliffs and are worthed a visit. In addition you can visit...More

Enjoyed this walk, did the loop track which took around the one and a half hours as expected with plenty of time for photos and enjoying the landforms and views. There were a number of alternate pathways that one could do. The hillsides were covered...More
