Spectacular spot for a lazy lunch
Jan. 2021 • Family
What an incredible spot for a lazy lunch in the sun! We sat outside on a picnic table under an umbrella. We had a platter and a bottle of Chardonnay to share between 3 of us. The platter was beautifully presented and our coeliac guest was really well catered for as she could eat everything on the platter and plenty of gluten free crackers and bread were provided. The setting was perfect (helped by a 30 degree Central Otago summer day), the service was impeccable and our food and wine were very much enjoyed. Would wholeheartedly recommend this spot!!

Exceptional tasting a must do in Central Otago
Jan. 2021 • Friends
A must stop when you are in Central Otago! We have been through an esquisite tasting in such a beautiful environment. Cloudy Bay wines were already amongst my favourite but I have to say the shed completed perfectly the elegance of their work. Thank you for this beautiful journey across the exceptional Cloudy Bay wines.

Drop the tasting fees when purchasing
Jan. 2021 • Couples
Environment is stunning.
Service and food was great.
Wines lovely but generally overpriced in our view when compared to others in this region.
Tasting fees should be totally waived when any bottle is purchased. Our group spent $200 all up incl lunch, and it was hence very disappointing to still be charged a tasting fee! You need to look at this, if you’re wanting to build customer loyalty and repeat business - word of mouth is everything surely

Lots going for this place but ....
Feb. 2020
We came for lunch and not for wine tasting. It was a lovely sunny day and there were some tables under trees and a few under umbrellas but not enough. The staff were magnificent, the food presentation exquisite (Japanese), the setting glorious - what more could anyone want? Well coffee for starters!! I believe that lunch should include tea or coffee choices. Only wine is served. The emphasis is on wine tasting and sales. There didn't appear to be seating inside but maybe that would change for winter as there is a large room just used to store barrels.

Dear Helen, I am delighted to read such beautiful comments about your experience at the Shed yesterday, and will make sure to pass your amazing compliments onto our lovely team of Cellar Door Hosts and to the Chef! The very first & main purpose of our Cellar Door is to showcase our wines, to connect with our guests, tell them beautiful stories about Cloudy Bay and for them to enjoy the sceneries we're nestled in, with great food & wine pairings! For this matter, we purposely chose not to serve coffees/teas, simply because the aim is for the focus to remain on our wines - and probably also because our wine story-telling skills have proven to be way better than our barista ones :) We would definitely be more than happy to provide you with great local cafes recommendation located a 5 minutes drive from the Shed, and also have a range of soft drinks/low alcohol beers available for guests who could eventually not consume wine for any reason. Lastly, the interior area of our Cellar Door does offer interior seating, nice and cosy especially when we start lighting the fire when close to winter. Thank you again for your great feedback, which always help us to improve and question our service. We hope to get the chance of welcoming you and your party again soon, Kindest regards Marine Customer Experience Manager

What a pleasant surprise to see this Winery's sign on the road as my wife loves Cloudy Bay wines. We stopped and what a lovely and picturesque setting for a wine tasing plus. We arrived there as they were closing, but they graciously allowed us to sample several wines and make our happy purchases. I only wish we'd arrived for lunch as the menu looked very appetizing and it would have been great to rest for an hour or two in this tranquil setting. We wish we'd taken a picture to share.

Tranquil beautiful setting to experience Cloudy Bay wines
Jan. 2020
Loved our tasting this morning at the lovely Cloudy Bay tasting shed. The setting is absolutely tranquil and beautiful, the perfect place to sit and enjoy the Cloudy Bay wines. We were early so had the place to ourselves. The tasting options were very good, with a “Taste of Cloudy Bay” tasting which comprised a sauvingon blanc and a pinot noir for $5. We also had the “pinot noir immersion” which was 3 pinots, including the Te Wahi 2016 pinot which was superb. Enjoyed tasting the different pinots. This was $15 for the pinot immersion. Also was able to buy the noble reisling for $12 per glass, which I really enjoyed. Overall really enjoyed our experience, would love to stay a bit longer next time. Totally recommend.
