We had a fantastic time working our way through our bucket searching for sapphires - and we were delighted to find several! The staff were very friendly and helpful and explained the process of sieving, washing, and searching very well, especially to our two children. We had such a great time that we returned the next day to search through another bucket, and we found a couple more lovely gems. The staff were all friendly and patient with our children and we definitely recommend stopping in to search through a couple of buckets. Thank you!

Visited today (8/4/21) and had an awesome experience. We participated in a fossicking tour, where we walked to a nearby river and were taught what to look for and where to dig. Luckily a vehicle picks up our buckets of 'dirt', and takes back to the shop. The staff were extremely attentive, helpful and friendly. The cafe was clean and inviting. Highly recommend to anyone interested in fossicking.

We visited Bobby Dazzlers twice during our stay. On the first day we started with their big country breakfast before purchasing a bucket of wash. We were then taken outside and taught how to wash the dirt in the serve, before turning the gravel out and searching for Saphires. We spent from 9:30am to 1:30pm picking through the wash and were so excited to find gems! We were also joined by 3 nosy brolgas it was a fab morning and we highly recommend it. The second visit was to do mining bootcamp. We were kitted with buckets, pick & shovel and joined by a local miner who escorted us to a nearby river bank. He instructed us in what type of dirt to look for and where to dig. We filled 2 buckets each with wash and made our way back to Bobby Dazzlers to start processing. We were lucky enough again to fine more gems. We were offered tea and coffee during our processing time. It was such a great time and we learnt a fair bit from our miner guide Paddy.

Not sure what's going here. The buckets of 'wash' aka river stone mixed with dirt are sold for $20 each. Then you are shown how to clean the wash to find sapphires . Wonder how many times the wash has been recycled into another bucket. I found a few pieces of sapphire. When the proprietor checked it over I suspect that the stone that was handed back was different, that is, lesser quality. It's all a matter of trust.

Service was pretty poor from the moment we walked in. Took a while before someone served us. We were advised that no mine tours could be done due to Covid-19 (which was fine). I would have liked to have done the Boot Camp Trail however the young lady did not give us the option. We paid $25 for a bucket and was disappointed at the amount of sand, and only a couple of gems. Kids don’t want to go back there. Went to the cafe to buy some water only to be ignored by the young lady that said she would get someone to serve us. The same young lady walked in and out of the cafe about 3 times before actually serving us.
