This is open continuously and access is via a field of sheep. There are gates which you are expected to close after going through. Access is unlimited and there are signs posted with plenty of information about each part of the building. It is a substantial ruin but worth a visit if you are interested in the Jacobite rebellions or military history. Also great views.

We arrived here at the end of the afternoon, when it started to get dark which gave the building a special atmosphere. Looked lovely with the place lit up from the car park. Nice to have a look around and read about the history.

Very open to elements but very interesting and a great view from the hill. Two artists were going pencil drawing of the lay-out and was interesting to watch them work.

What is there not to like about a ruined building with history, which is always open and is free to enter. We love to stop here with guests and tell them the stories of the Jacobite uprisings.

Was a wee walk up though worth it for the view alone. Was nice wee walk round though could have done with a bit more info.
