Impressive port created by nature, you have to travel its 5.5 km. long to know how impressive it is, seeing it in photos or video is not the same as seeing it in reality. It is worth exploring it by boat and also along the shores, although walking takes several hours, but it will be worth it.

There are steps or an elevator to the town top from the harbor where our ship was docked. There are some shops along the main thoroughfare, Moll de Ponent. This is where you find the gin shop. Sadly, I missed the opening time but there is a little bodega where you can buy gin and other liquors. We walked up the steps to the town which is easy to maneuver. Walked past many works of art along the plazas and found the Portal de Sant Roc. It has an inscription. There are also some nice spots to view the sea. There were some restaurants around town.

Mahon a beautiful old town. From the center you come to a beautiful square with a beautiful view of the harbor. If you are looking for restaurants, you should look for them in the center. Lots of nice shops and terraces. We explored the city by bus from Punta Prima! Very good. And back by taxi to bus station. The city is car-free. Taxi not expensive. Good to do. Beautiful cathedral.

A great city to visit when in Menorca. We went on market day and it was a great atmosphere. We had a lovely walk around the shops and down to the harbour. Stunning views, beautiful buildings and a great boat trip finished off our visit.

The port of Mahon is very beautiful and full of history. Nearby, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. There are mini cruises of 1 hour by boat where guides tell us the history of this port where there are many historical places such as the fortress of Isabelle or the village of Es Castell.

A typical old town, of which there are many. From the port where our ship stopped, we walked along the embankment to a tall glass building - this is a free elevator that takes you up to the city center. On the opposite side from the elevator is the tourist office, which opened at 10 am and we took a map of the city with an explanation of where to go and what to see. Along the embankment there are souvenir shops and a street clothing market. The city itself seemed a little boring, but with many shops for every taste. This brightened up our one-day visit.

This is a lovely fun train ride on the roads of the harbour. Two carriages holding about 24 people each, €8 paid per person when embarking. Collected us by the tourist information at the harbour. Took us along the harbour front, past the restaurants and into the town in a broad circular route back to the pick up point where the second half took us from their to the left of the harbour and into the town that way. So a figure of eight route showing us places we'd not seen, with a commentary that was piped through the speakers in the roof and not too easy to hear. A great way to spend an hour.
