A nice beach with a few bars and restaurants. Not much for young children. Lots of loungers although I'd imagine it will get busy. The physical boardwalk itself is in good condition and offers some good views over the protected marshlands.

Appx 2 miles long from the harbour to the cliffs. Many resteraunts & bars en route. Amazing beach. Life guards all the way along. The cliffs at the end are well worth the walk.

Great idea to be able to walk right along the seafront without getting sand all over you. Very good idea, we could walk right from our Hotel into Alvor.

Anyone have any idea what the stacked stones signify? I'm presuming it's something like a cairn you would build after climbing a hill/mountain?

We did not walk the entire route but it can be as long or as short as you wish. You can park your car near the beach and along the waterfront. You could do it in one day or several days. The below is taken from Walk... More
