For me, finding the starting point of this trail is 90% of the battle. We came in on the Fiumineddu valley road and kept wondering if we were on the right track. In retrospect, the directions you get on some websites are absolutely right, you just have to trust them and keep going all the way until you cross the... More

We took the route from direction of Dorgali and it was very well marked, easy to follow. No guide needed. For me, a 40 year old light-weight gym-goer and for my 15 year old nephew it was a pleasant exercise, for the rest of couch potato family it was a killer. The truth is, there is not much reward for... More

Me and my partner are currently driving around Sardinia and this was the first place we visited. We arrived at the car park and had to pay €6 for the day which was worth it. We hiked 2 hours up the mountain following the red and white flags. We left at 7am so arrived just as it was opening, nice... More

Very beautiful hiking path and wonderful view on these superb rocks. I loved it. The tiscali village unfortunately is nothing special because it could be better preserved....hopefully there will be more funds. The guy explaining us very nice.

Great, but challenging. We should have bought a map, specifically for the walk, as we took a bit of a naive approach and figured we could do the entire thing on a spontanious feel. How wrong we were! There are apparently a few routes that go towards the site, 3 if i'm correct. 2 fairly easy starting with one starting... More

After reading about the hike to Tiscali in a tour guide book we decided to attempt the walk by ourselves without a guide and deeply regretted it! Following the tom-tom directions to the furthest car park the chap in the information Centre pointed us in the direction to go and we started to walk. We found the red and white... More

It was pretty easy to get to the start of the trail (most guidebooks have directions). There was a parking lot charging 6 Euros I think it was, but you could keep driving up the road and park for free as the locals seemed to do. The trail is well marked with red and white signs (#410 as other people... More

A somewhat challenging hike to an atmospheric site. We parked in the first informally signed Tiscali parking lot where we had to forge a shallow river by removing our shoes and socks then walking to the trail head 15-20 minutes further on. At the trail head there is a small amount of parking which can be accessed by continuing on... More

We had been advised by our hotel to only do the hike to Tiscali with a guide. We like to do things at our own pace both being over 50, so we decided to have a go and see how far we got. Taking the road first right after the Su Gologone hotel, it soon turned into an unmade road... More

We'd heard mixed reviews about how plausible the hike was without maps/a guide. However, we found really useful and detailed instructions for arriving at the trailhead from the Lanaitto Valley side on Planet Mountain. These were spot on, even though it feels like you drive for a really long time. Getting there: From the centre of Oliena going east on... More
