Be sure to stop and marvel before your visit to Dorgali and perhaps a hike up one of the mountains in the area. It’s a short visit and gentle walk to limber up before taking in the sights from high on the mountain.

A tomb from nuraghic era that is located literally in the middle of nowhere. We stopped there on our way from east to west of the island and took a short walk from the road. Access is free and external shape of the tomb is...More

Driving along the road, watch carefully for the sign to Tomba Giganti Thomes, it is easy to miss. But, once your are there be prepared to be astonished, especially if you are like we were and knew very little about the tombs. From the parking...More

We had read about these “Giants’” tombs that appear around Sardinia, but it isn’t until you actually visit one that you start to understand why people took some time to realise what they were. This particular one near Dorgali is easy to miss - the...More

The place looks abandoned untill you pass true the gate. The gate was open and there was no entrance fee, only the sign asking you to close the gate when you leave due to wild animals. The prehistorical cementary is located on the hill, in...More

Never seen anything like this before. Especially enjoyed the setting, walking a short distance through a natural area and suddenly seeing this odd stone construct, stage-like, before you. Almost an alien feeling, quite photogenic.

Although to get to the tomb is a bit of walk (10 minutes) it was worth the time and effort. The walk is through fields and not at all strenuous. It is not a large site but quite amazing when you realize that people had...More
