Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This Plazza is a lovely place to sit in one of the cafes or restaurants to just relax and watch the world go by. Many places to visit in this area.

In the middle of the square there's this beautiful baroque spire...the way it stands out from the White of the city is beautiful.

The spire or column of Sant’Oronzo, the patron saint of Ostuni, is located in Piazza della Liberta. It is a symbol of the city. The column has a pyramidal architectural structure and was constructed in devotion and gratitude to Saint Oronzo for protecting the city from the plague.
Standing at around twenty meters high, the baroque spire has four levels ornately decorated with cartouches, figures of angels, balustrades and statues of saints. The Statue of Sant’Oronzo blessing and facing the old city, dominates at the top.

This impressive statue presides over the most active part of town. The nearby area is lined with fabulous restaurants and shops.

An impressive statue in the centre of the piazza, bordered by a pletora of bars and restaurants. Depicting the holy Oronzo, patron of Ostuni. What a tribute!

Nice statue in the middle of the town. Nice and just worth a photo given the fact that traffic is all around. Spend a moment to have a better look

The ending of a plague in Puglia in 1656 as also an outbreak of cholera in 1851 is attributed to Saint Oronzo. As well as being the patron saint of Ostuni - we hold a three-day festival from the 25 August to 27 August in his honour - Oronzo is also the patron saint of Lecce.
His column is best viewed from Pausa Cafè on the piazza below, one of our preferred post dinner stopping off points in Ostuni, with a cocktail in hand on a balmy summer evening.

Worth a visit. Impressively tall and imposing in the lovely main square filled with history. From the base, there's a lovely view of the cathedral at the tip of this hill town.

The patron saint for Ostuni (and Lecce) welcomes you as you walk into the main square and it’s a wonderful and majestic welcome at that.
It’s an impressive statue that really captures your attention. Be sure to check him out from every angle because they’re all good.

nice area but far from the best you will see. Made up mainly of holiday traps for tourists who will pay too much for coffee
