One day before the hurricane Ophelia came to Ireland we visited this beautiful site! We had a picnic in our camper and enjoyed the sea banging to the cliffs. Sitting and relaxing, impressed by the power of nature!

I try to visit lighthouses whenever I can. Hook Head is probably the best. Stunning scenery, great drive , important history. My guide Ann was brilliant fun as well as being informative. Don't miss it.

Naturally enough the Lighthouse is positioned in a beautiful place right out on the headland. Take the tour, walk along the coast and have a snack at the cafe. It's well worth the visit.

Lovely day out exploring and getting fresh air with spectacular coastal views. Family friendly, quite exposed to the elements though. You definitely want raincoats/windproof coats. Not wheelchair accessible for the most part (which can't be helped - it's just the type of attraction/building it is)....More
