Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I Payed 68€ for entrance (8€ adult n 4€ child) for me and my family. While I’ve been busy with stuff, my aunt who doesn’t speak good English and Greek was told by the waiter that the sunbeds are cost 22€. An umbrella with two sunbeds cost like that. I was shock when I arrived, because I’ve always been a reguler there, and always payed 4€ or 3€ only. While I’m asking for explanation another 2 waiters came, man and woman wich is so familiar face (the man). And asked what happened, so both me and the girl explain and the guy directly agreed with me and asking “yeah why you were charged them with such highly rate?” And he ask them to return our money or charge normaly. Both woman suddenly change and became not so nice and ask us to go to another side as it is suddenly become a VIP area. We were try to move but because I have 2 yo baby and kid with me with so many stuff, I decided to stay but at the last row in the back, so we took two sunbeds and another 2 extra the blue one wich is known for a free one and the girl again come with sour face and ask me to pay 18€ for the sunbeds and I said ok for this two that you claim vip, but those blue also suddenly became vip sunbed. This is RIDICULOUS, RUDE, and very BAD experience I’ve face in my entired 15 years live in greece. Those girl, the waiter are looked at me with evel eye. We’re stay for only 3 hours ‘cause I don’t feel comfortable anymore to stay, and to be honest I wish I could ask for a refund and go home. 3 hours that cost 84€. It’s totally not worthed. (I wish took a picture of that waiter)

Tragic experience. We went Friday afternoon, two moms with a child each. At the entrance they informed us that the entrance fee is eight euros and no matter how we enter there is no sunbed, maybe by luck we will find a seat at the bar. The clerk at the cashier seemed to have no idea of the interior, she just said arbitrarily that there was no table available or sunbed... In other words, we had to pay for the entrance and if we found one, God had it!!! We went in and the shop had a limited coverage in deckchairs and tables there were enough for the bar completely empty.. we sat there and for at least an hour no one came to take our order. When I undressed and went to the bar to order something the clerk told me I only order from the waiters. After I found the waiter after a quarter of an hour he brought us the things after half an hour!! The second time we needed him and ordered from him, he never brought the order. Eight euros to enter for a beach not suitable for swimming as I was informed later... All round tragic experience

One of the worst beaches I have ever been in my life. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Do not come here!!

It is a scam. They charge you just to walk on the beach. If you want to sit anywhere the costs are exorbitant let alone if you want to buy anything to drink.

The staff are rude. The entire place stinks of trash and is kept to an extremely filthy standard. Leave at once, do not enter.

Beach near the center of Athens, higher weekend prices, you pay first the entrance 10€ (weekend) and 8€ normal days, then you pay apart the sunbed and umbrella. Overall excellent
Very equipped beach, with the possibility of online bookings through an app... highly recommend

I would never get over there to swim, but it's wonderful when the sun dawns for a drink or cocktail with good music and good company!

I would give this place a good thumbs up ! Went pre-season in April so no entry fee. I was told that after May 1, there is a 5 euro per person fee. Off season is the way to go as I'm very sure the place will be jammed even with the 5 euro entry. Nice beach scene. Price of drinks are pretty standard at 5-7 euros a beer.

Wonderful place, I would recommend it.
High service value, nice beach, clear water, Kindle people and rally near tram stop Kalamaki.

Look, for 6€ entrance fee and 1€ for the sunbed you are expecting some more friendly service.
Yes the beach has lots of sun beds and umbrellas, changing rooms, shower, WC and bar. BUT!

For 7€ I expect a working wi-fi on the beach (other beach bars have it working in a proper way, there’s nothing of rocket science). And if you ask waiters for help they just advice you to apply to someone else because they cannot help you. That’s no good!

In the bar only beverages are available and rather expensive (freddo espresso 3,5€). In comparison to Thalassea beach for example - it costs only 1,40€ (The same quality).

Summary: nice place, not far away from the city, but rather expensive for offered service and I wish the stuff would be more friendly :)
The beach itself, the sea and music - excellent.

The beach itself, the water, the area is absolutely horrible.

The sun beds were fine and the service was ok. But the water was absolutely horribly dirty, full of trash, waste, bottle cups, lighters, and other dirty stuff.

The beach's fake gravel makes the water look just a little bit white, but it's absolutely turn-down to get it to this disgusting water.

Other than that the beach was packed with people but not in a way that you feel uncomfortable actually.

Just know in advanced that the water itself (which for me is quite a big deal when I go to a beach obviously) is in-rankable

Sadly, Alimos Beach is no longer available to everybody for free (something Athenians fought for for decades), at least most parts of it aren't. But it's undeniably one of the best beaches, with crystal clear water and soft, clean sand and nice (though a bit expensive) coffee shops. Easily accessible by tram and bus, a paradise for kids and people who love beach sports!
