Remembering the time before the wall this was very interesting visit. Fun to look at all the items from the past. Many looks just the same as what we had on the other side of the wall. Museum is in an odd place - a...More

One of the beat/finest collections og DDR memorabilia I have seen so far. But knowledge og german language is needed to make to most of a visit. The small museum is worth a visit.

Nicely done museum located on the 6th floor of a furniture store. There is an elevator (max 4 persons) that you can ride up. The bathrooms are on the 4th floor and are very clean. The timeline starts in 1949 and works forward, be sure...More

This place is full of knick-knacks from the DDR time. Fascinating to see how people lived but don't expect a high level of detail

Highlight of a few days in the area! A journey back in time to furniture and household items of the past! Although i had a feeling some of the stuff is nowadays fashionable again! Great you can touch things!

One would think that such an exhibit would include English reading tourists. It is in the former East? Don´t the citizens already know what they or relatives lived through? I was with a German and luckily could understand more than amassed products of the East....More

Am not sure what to say. TONS of memorabilia. It was cool to look at, but everything is in German, so unless you have a good reading comprehension, you won't understand the descriptions, newspaper clippings, etc. There were some room displays, and some of the...More

Cunningly placed on the sixth floor of a furniture store this museum is fascinating. Arranged as a series of themed rooms the whole story of the GDR is told from start to finish in a fairly superficial and entertaining way, largely using the detritus of...More

As a child of the 70s my view of life in the DDR was based on what we were told. This museum was a social eye opener. Although all in German the items and rooms displayed tell a story of life through the decades. Go...More
