The West Wall Museum does not live up to its potential. The tunnels themselves are in good condition (dry and intact, but somewhat cold). There are some interesting aspects to the displayed items: a remarkably complete set of gas masks from a wide range of countries, a wide number of German military motorcycles, some signage relating to the bombing of... As a westerner, I grew up hearing about our view of the war. It was eye opening to get to visit and see the German side and hear what the locals went through. This place was way more than I expected.

I'm a huge history fan, and this place was right up my alley! The bunker was a real German WW2 station on the Siegfried Line for SS panzer troops. The self-guided tour shows heavy equipment, guns, tanks, model displays, uniforms, etc... The bunker was much larger than I expected. Our wives found it extremely boring, but the guys loved it.... Self guided tours of an underground bunker complex built in the 1930s as part of the Westwall. Better known as the Siegfried Line, it stood opposite the more well known French Maginot Line.
