This had been a central part of the long history of the city. A city originally important to the Romans who had settled here because of the river, had had several transformations over the years. It was a delight to be able to see how ownderfully it has been maintained and valued by the citizens.

Ok, other reviews mentioned how steep it was. Thank you. It was super steep, not well marked, unlit, narrow, deteriorating rocky slippery path with fabulous views. We weren't sure for awhile if we took the right path up. If you are facing the direction of the castle from the highest parking lot it's the little creepy path up into the... More

Our friend brought us to Esslingen from Stuttgart. It was well worth the climb up all the stairs. Great exercise and a rewarding view.

Burk Teck is an old medieval castle that has been converted into a hostel and restaurant / snack bar. While I could take off points from it because there is not a ton of historical information about it (no tours, etc.), and it is more of a commercial operation, I won't, simply I expected that, and I am really glad... It can get tiring if you are motivated to move. It was fun, and the views are great once you are at the top!

This is a wonderful natural park surrounding the ruins of Burg Teck. You can not drive up to the castle and must park about 1 km away and take a lovely, uphill stroll to the castle grounds. You can park at a variety of points and you can take any number of trails depending on how long and how strenuous... More

it is a very nice destination. You can visit the church first and then continue towards the Burg Teck by the steep stairs or the stoned pathway. I took the stairs for climbing and came back by the other way, so enjoyed both the ways..its really peaceful at the top and there's a pretty good park in between. You can... More

I toured this the weekend of Frühlings fest. You can climb the steps or take the cobblestone path to the top. The view of the town is lovely. The vineyards around the burg are picturesque. There were large plantings of spring flowers and was all very nicely maintained. I will go back again, and take the stairs, because it is... More
