I never wanted a camping car but at this well presented museum one sees the changes of 20th century popular culture and travel through the lens of camping car development and automobiles. Don’t miss the Trabant with the tent on top. On summer days the...More

An outstanding and unusual collection of classic-car and - of course - touring-caravans and motor-caravans from the very early age of plain-air tourism to recent days. It displays the personal collections of Erwin Hymer and Arist Dethleffs (founders of the eponymous companies). A must see...More

When I first heard of the Hymer Museum, I expected it to be little more than a giant advertisement campaign for a company that is renowned for the manufacturing of motor homes and camper vans. But it is much more than that! On display are...More

Longtime camper and RV fans a great place to visit. Detailed and nice decorated. Not boring at all and they do a good job to make it fun and interesting. The "modern" part of it is the Erwin Hymer World in Wertheim.

We spent a few good hours at the museum. I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea but for those that have an interest in RV's it's pretty cool. Extremely well set out & very tidy. A few irrelevant displays but overall worth the visit.

The museum seems to be a very popular place to visit. However not being a RV fan it tends to get boring. In fact it seems more like a Mausoleum for Mr. Hymer instead of a museum

This is a rather simple idea of a museum of campers and RVs, but they do a great job of making it fun and interesting for kids. They even have excellent travel movies. There is also a collection of rare cars that is very interesting...More

This museum covers the history of Hymer campers, but also includes other displays from other sources - from very early caravans to a long distance 1970s trips in VW campervans. It is large, airy and well laid out, with the displays arranged in four themed...More
