Imagine what it must have been like when it was optional. This is one of these structures that you can look at and think of the past. History is a great subject.

We saw this old mill, which was built on old bridge piers, from our touring bus during our morning drive to Giverny while our Vantage river cruise ship was docked in Conflans. It served as a model for many painters. Claude Monet painted this it...More

A very old mill forming part of a bridge next to a castle on the river. A pity you cannot get to it to see inside but a great spot for a picnic.

You can see it from the bridge as you head from Vernon to Giverny. It's unusual given that it's sitting on two old portions of a bridge. It is not open to the public but makes for a great photograph and the building itself is...More

The mill itself cannot be visited inside but it is beautiful from the outside, located in a nice little park nearby the castle or what is left of it. Well worth a stop.

Take your picknick basket and enjoy the park, the seine and the historic setting. No visite possible, but more to set, Lieke gold watchtower. When the weather is good, there will also be some sailing on the seine.

The place is worth a stop when you go to (or on your way back from) Giverney (Monet house & gardens). Buy your sandwiches in Vernon (boulangerie vieux moulin) and sit in the grass area with nice views over the Seine river and the old...More

Hello,my best friend lives in Vernon and I never took a tour from Paris to there. Vernon is a small city you can buy a train ticket there from Paris(80km,40min by train )aprox €13/each way and you can discover the town alone.
